Jeffery Wasson is 40 years
old. Jeffery has Cerebral Palsy which has compromised his walking
and caused brain damage which
resulted in mild mental retardation. He first got involved with
My Service Mind about 4 years ago. My Service Mind helped him get
social security income (SSI). Jeffery eventually married a Korean
lady
whose name
is Myung. Myung is 33 years old.
Myung also has mild mental retardation and cerebral palsy. They
are both
clients of DD. Myung and Jeffrey
live with Jeffery’s parents. Myung only speaks Korean. Their
son is Paul Wasson. Paul is a healthy young boy. MSM
helps to get care providers for their family. Through monthly
parent and child meetings at MSM,
Jeff and Myung
receive DSHS Division
of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) education
and information.
Jeffery and Myung have fellowship
with other families through My Service Mind. They get resources
from family to family. MSM helps fill out paper work because
of their lack of English. Between the government and the families
of DD, My Service Mind does the social work. Through My Service
Mind the following services are provided like respite care and family
support.
