My Service Mind's Citizenship program helps the community with the primary objective of aiding immigrats in becoming naturalized citizens of the United States. It helps them apply for citizenship, teaches them U.S. history and civics and provides practice for the citizenship interview so that they will pass the INS citizenship interview and examination. Our staff is devoted to having clients feel "right at home" with their new surroundings, and making their contact with the INS as comfortable as possible.

Along with our citizenship program, we also work towards establishing visas, obtaining and renewing Permanent Resident "green cards," fee waivers, N-648 Disability applications, citizenship examination prep courses, English as a Second Language (ESL) courses and limited English proficient (LEP) program. If having the client feel "right at home" means going to INS to assist in fingerprinting or INS interviews with our clients, we will gladly do it.

Over the last 9 years MSM has helped roughly 600 people recieve citizenship.

MSM was formed to create, promote, support and maintain educational and charitable programs for assisting disadvantaged members of the community. One such program is the “Ethnic Senior Citizenship Program.” Through this program, MSM provides information to participants regarding the eligibility requirements for U.S. citizenship, assistance with the completion and submission of INS form N-400, citizenship training classes and mock Citizenship interviews, and assistance to and from the interview with INS officials. MSM also published a textbook, audiotape, and video for the class.
